Thursday Thirteen ~ "Words" From the URBAN Dictionary

As a writer... I love words. This week's 13 is a list of "words" from the Urban Dictionary that for one reason or another caught my attention:

1. Mud Turkied: Supremely owned, embarrassingly schooled.

"I just totally Mud Turkied you at a game of pool." Which translates roughly in to, "I just beat you so bad at pool that your mother started crying and offered me her body so I would stop destroying you so madKorely".

*snicker* Good to know!

2. Labradoodle: A cross breed dog. Half poodle, half labrador, often used as guide dogs.

"Hey ur dog is really cute...uh what is it?"

"A labradoodle!"

Okay, yes, I've heard this one before... but it still cracks me up. The dogs are adorable... but say it out loud. Bet you can't do it without laughing.

3. Pash: Australian slang for a tongue kiss, like the English word snog.

Did you hear that Richard pashed Emma at the dance?

I have no idea if it's accurate or not... but we can always use more words for kiss!

4. Slackitude: The act of, or state of being a slacker. Describes the attitude typically associated with being a slacker.

Most appropriately applies to one with no responsibilities, one that gets by pretending to be hard at work, or the co-worker that is found hanging out near the coffee machine for most of the day.

I just can't tolerate that guy's slackitude! If I were his manager, I'd sack him, no doubt.

A phrase that can unfortunately describe WAY too many people these days.

5. Designated Texter: a passenger who reads and replies to any and all text messages recieved on the drivers phone, thus alowing the driver to focus on the road and not hit anything or get pulled over for reckless driving.

Guy 1: "Woah, I almost hit that telephone pole back there, Dude you should be my designated texter "

Guy 2: "Yeah no problem bro"

Hadn't heard this one before, but it sounds like a good idea to me!

6. Cuddle Call: a phone call (or a text) to arrange an immediate cuddle date. Not a booty call but similar in the call for satisfaction nature of the behavior.

"Hey Baby. What's going on?"

"Hi. Cuddle Call?"

"See you in ten minutes"

I swear I didn't make it up!

7. Requestion: requesting something indirectly by way of a question
note: this is distinguished from a regular question because the answer is usually obvious.

"are those peanut m&m's?" (requestion)

"yes, would you like some?"

"yeah"

Hey, my kids do this all the time!

8. Vanilla: n. The opposite of kinky. Not in any way involved with BDSM.

"He was a little more vanilla than I was used to, but we got along fine anyway."

Come on, y'all didn't think I'd leave this one out did ya?

9. Blackberry Jam: A people traffic jam that occurrs in subway tunnels and bus stations. Caused by inconsiderate workaholics walking too slow while their noses are glued to their Blackberry device.

I was late for work because there was a Blackberry Jam getting out of the A train.

It's rather ingenious.

10. Tag Hag: A person who is obsessed with name brand clothing. See label whore.

Nicole always flaunts the latest clothing.

She is such a tag hag.

I can only laugh at this one...

11. FNG: Military term, 'F***ing New Guy' usually someone just out of training or just transfered into the unit/AO, who either hasn't proved his worth or doesn't know how to operate properly due to lack of experiance.

"Damnit, nearly everyone here is an FNG, we'll be wiped out on the next op"

Umm... I come from a Military family... we love this "word".

12. Desk Rage: The peak of office employee stress levels which ultimately starts with the screaming of vulgar language within the workplace. It can often times lead to assaulting fellow employees, abusing office equipment and/or stealing of company property, abusing sick days and ultimately poor production at work. A possible side effect is that the employee continues to take out his or her rage at their residence in the form of kicking small animals and drinking heavily.

With my pending at work and the amount of people calling me each day I'm on the brink of desk rage and one day I'm going to break and take it out on that weird guy that sits next to me.

WOW, SO much worse than Road Rage.

13. Liptease: The act of putting on lipstick suggestively; The oral equivalent of a striptease.

Diane was giving me a liptease from across the room, so I went over and asked her out.

You ladies KNOW you've done this... and even some of the men! Don't deny it!

So, that is my 13 for today. I swear, none of these were made up by me... and you can go to the site and see how many people even agree with the definition. Heck, you can vote yourself! Hope y'all have a great Thursday!

Very good!! I have never heard any of them, but some (e.g. requestion) are just crying out to enter the mainstream.

ROFLMAO! Thanks for the snicker this morning. I especially like the blackberry jam. We looked into getting a labradoodle. Turns out the only purebred ones (meaning no chance of genetic issue due to siblings being bred)come from Australia. When we saw how much they would cost, we had to switch breeds. They'rs so cute, too. There are also goldendoodles-golden retrievers mixed with poodles. Hmmm...what else can we blend together?!
