Pietro Aretino (1492-1556) has been called the inventor of modern literate pornography. He wrote I Modi. or "The Ways." This is sometimes referred to as "16 Positions" as it combines sixteen sexually explicit sonnets with sixteen engravings.



I was unable to find any examples of the text online, but the book is available.
