Friday Fun with Megan!

So. It's been a week. I have to say I love working with Changeling Press. The folks there are so friendly. It's like writing for a family, a huge family, but a family. I was asked to write an Encounter story. Got that done this past week. Was really fun trying to write a story that's hot and short. I also outlined the story that goes along with Fire Woman. Luc keeps giving me the stink eye because I haven't written his story. It's on the list. First, I'm working on a Christmas themed story. It's a little late in the year for it, as most pubs have already had the calls for holiday work. I buck the system. I know, you're really shocked. So that's going. Not going to be a long story, but I want to get it done. I need to get back to Luc and Tay's story as well as Neddy and Kane. Only a hundred ideas. Too bad there's only 24 hours in the day. That's all for now. I'll get back to the WIP's in a bit. Gotta finish the posts and then I can. Yes, Luc, that means I'll be back to work on you in a moment. Ta!

Friday Fun ~ What If You Could Use Fire?

What if you could control fire? I don't mean start fires and be disrespectful. I'm talking about fire being part of you? Like a fire elemental.Your emotions are a measure of the flame. When you're happy and excited, it burns brighter. When you're sad or down, it's a tiny little flicker.
And what if you could somewhat control the flames? Like, say, singing someone's hair to get them out of the way? Well, I know I'd be pretty dangerous. Cut me off in traffic. POOF. Act rude? POOF. Cancel my favorite show? POOF. Yeah, I'd be dangerous.

In my latest WIP, my heroine controls fire. She's not real thrilled about it. See, her issue is when she makes love to a man, he tends to go up into flame. You guessed it. Poof! Gone! Ashes.

What's a girl to do? I mean, she'd like the affections of a handsome man. Especially if that handsome man is the tattooed, pierced, bassist for Glow, Zac Frost. Trust me, he's noticed her.

I can't tell you what happens next to Atria. She'd probably set me on fire if I did. But what if you could control an element, say, fire or water? What would you do?

When One Story Morphs into Another...

Have you ever had a story that started out as a simple two people fall in love kind of story and it morphs out of control into another story? Like, into two or more?

I'm so there.

The Elemental story is going great guns. Really is. It's fun. I love the characters and I'm having a blast writing their path to love. But what's a pain is, there are secondary characters that want their due, too. Yeah. They want me to tell their story at the same darned time. I'm only one person. If I can't keep three eager vampires from getting a little twitchy from time to time, how do you think I can keep two gay Elementals from consuming all my time?

I can't.

I know...while others are dealing with writer's block, I've got the so tough job of having too many characters talking at once.

And the story I've been plunking away at with Kealie...V? Yeah, it's starting to come back into focus a bit. Kinda funny because the characters wouldn't hush there for a while and then crickets. Now they want to talk a but more.

I'll deal.
