Can Hans sort out his feelings for the wolf and defeat the forces working to keep them from their happily ever after before time runs out?

EXCERPT TIME!!

"Hans." Pietro closed the gap between them. "I don't deserve a second thought from you. I should've helped you before when I could. I'm sorry." His shoulders sagged and he closed his eyes. "You have the books and the knowledge from the stuff your mom had you study. You have the brains and strength to beat them all. But that rat bastard gets off on seeing you in distress. He's winning at this game. Don't let him win." He opened his eyes. "Use that big old heart and your brain, and you will destroy him."

"What about you? Why are you telling me this?"

"I like you, Hans. More than I should. I know you figured me out. I came into this group because I thought I liked danger. What I liked was you."

Liked him? Big old heart? Pietro had to be toying with him. "I won't tell you when I'll strike. You'll use it against me."

"I understand. You're right, I could." He sighed. "Trust must be earned. Starting today, I'm ready to earn yours."

Uh-huh. Hans fell backwards onto the heap of blankets he called a bed. If there was going to be a fight, then he'd plan out precisely when he'd strike. If Pietro wanted to help, he could help when the shit hit the fan. No more allowing the filthy Captain to win. He'd make sure payback was a royal bitch.

"Hans."

He turned to face Pietro, who helped Hans out of his shirt. He smoothed one hand across Hans' chest. He licked his bottom lip and dragged his teeth over the blood-engorged skin.

Hans had seen Pietro a thousand times, but never expected him to want anything more than awkward friendship. He shivered into Pietro's touch. "What are you doing?"

Pietro popped the button on Hans' jeans. "Attempting to help you recover." He slid his hand under the denim and wrapped his fingers around Hans' cock. "Am I helping?"

"Yeah," Hans replied. His mouth ran dry, and his dick pressed hard into his jeans. He grabbed the waistband of his pants and shoved. A streak of pain ricocheted down his ribs. "Fuck."

"That can't be from me doing a good job." Pietro stood and tugged the legs of the jeans down Hans' hips, leaving Hans bare. "Bastard bruised your ribs."

"I'll live." He reached for Pietro. "Come here."

Monday Author Interview with Changeling Press Publisher Margaret Riley

Hi Megan, Shelby Morgen here.

Welcome to Menagerie Authors, Shelby! So glad you stopped by.

Thanks for having me. This looks like fun!

It’s always fun. And yes, we’ve had our shots. Just a reminder, please don't give us one word answers -- be verbose!

OMG, you have to tell authors that? hangs head. So sad… You know me. You're more likely to have to tell me to shut up. PC, of course. “Hey, M, I had to trim this just a little (Only 90% this time) to fit the slot, hope you don't mind…” ROFL.

Nah. No worries. We like chatty Cathies here. Describe yourself in three words.

Wait. You said I had to NOT be brief. OK, fine. Gregarious. Fierce. Disorganized.

I did say to be chatty. That’s the only short answer question. Muwhaha. I’ll find more that are longer. Like...cast your book. Tell us who would play the main characters in a movie and why?

I am SOO bad at this. Well, OK. Megan Fox, not Michael J. /snicker

She’s got a great body and those eyes! What's your favorite love scene from a movie?

Antonio Banderas. Angelina Jolie. Original Sin -- the entire movie is one long love scene.

Oh, yes. Yes. I agree. Speaking of sexy...what's your wildest fantasy?

The Northlanders -- all 14 or so books - get made into a made for TV Mini series and I get to direct. Right after I spend like 2 years learning how to create DGI special effects at Full Sail University on a full ride. In my spare time I get to keep writing and publishing…

Coolio. I’d watch it. If you were to lose one of your senses, which would you rather lose and why?

Oh, man, that's hard. Authors live by our senses. I'd say hearing -- I was deaf for a couple of years as a child, so I know I could handle it. (I've still got a small hearing loss, but generally only for men -- other than my husband -- who want something…) But if my hearing got a lot worse I'd be first in line for the cochlear implant.

I’ll ask your DH and see what he says. I bet he says you play deaf really well. Mine sure does. What is the naughtiest thing you did as a kid?

Hehe. Pretended I was still deaf whenever it was convenient… and no, I don't still do that. Really. I'm sorry. What did you say?

See? I’m asking Bill. Oh well. Now the next few questions are what we at the Menagerie call the Quickies. Fast, hard, and so much fun!

Starting with...Boxers or Briefs?

Either -- I don't care which he's wearing. They all come off.

Very true. Top or Bottom?

Yes. LOL

Oh! So that answer works for that question. And yes, when I see :Sex? Yes. On the cover art request, I think of Austin Powers. Next question. Pajamas or nude?

Bare skin, please

Hairy chests or smooth?

Smooth (See, I CAN give one word answers!)

Finally, someone like me. I’m sorry. I cannot handle a guy who is a rug. Alpha or Beta? Me?

Or him? Alpha, in either case.

Hee hee. That’s funny. The one I want being alpha is Gerard Butler. He has to do a lot of talking.

Thanks Megan! This was fun

Always fun to have you here!

And now a little bit about FOXY!!

Foxy: Fandango, the first book in the Multi Author series, Foxy.

Last Chance, Alaska. State Park, Wildlife preserve, small town. Population: 1479 humans. And there's the rest of us. Some of us were born here. Some came by choice. Some had nowhere left to run. Town hall, three bars, a clinic, and a rooming house. Great place to go if you're on the run. No roads in or out. Cars come in by ferry from Juneau -- two hour ride. Summer sun rules day and night. By September the sun sets at 6 pm. Three or four hours of sunlight. Maybe.

So what do you do for entertainment in a town like this? If you're Foxy, you entertain your big, beautiful bunny, Jessie. And there's nothing Jessie loves more than dancing... unless it's being chased by Foxy. And letting him catch her.

Release Day!! Always!!!

Nope can't tell I'm excited. :-)
I am. Grin. I have always loved Peter Pan and when I got the chance to write him grown up, yes, I know he's not supposed to grow up, I jumped at it. Changeling Press created a line of books called Forever Wicked. I'm glad to be part of the series. Always is my contribution. Read on and click the cover or the title for purchasing information!

Forever Wicked: Always - Megan Slayer
BIN: 05660-01813
Word Count: 18K
Page Count: 55
Genres: Erotic Romance, Novella, Paranormal, BDSM, spanking, biting, fetish, anal sex
Themes: Magic

Peter Pan grew up, all right.

Peter Pan was supposed to be the boy who never grew up. Then Neverland blew sky high. Now he's very much an adult and playing adult games. There's one woman he wants for his bed, his cuffs, his toys... yeah, he's ready to do all sorts of naughty things to Wendy. If he can find her.

Wendy Darling never expected Peter to come back. She'd grown up and moved on -- to write white-hot BDSM tales. Can her perfect Dom be the one man she never thought she'd see all grown up?

Here's a tasty little excerpt that's not safe for work, but so much fun to read.

"Wanna ride me?"
"Is that a trick question?" Her resistance blew all to hell. She'd keep her heart behind a wall, but she'd let him have his way with her body.
"I've got a better idea." He pulled her into his lap, having her straddle his thighs. "I've been away for too many nights. I owe you so much more than just a tour of a sex club for the Fae to fuck humans. I want you to see I'm all grown up. I want more than a business partner or a lover. I want you."
Wendy trailed her fingertips down his chest. The heat in his groin matched the need settling between her legs. She had to say something to test him one more time. "Don't say what you don't mean. You're not dressed to stick around."
Peter tugged the elastic from her hair and combed his fingers the tangled strands. "That's better. I land on my feet, remember? I'll manage." He sniffed the air. "Do you realize you smell like lemon?"
"Toilet cleaner. Sexy, I know." She rolled her eyes. "If you'd showed up half an hour later, I'd probably smell like the peony shower gel I use."
"I don't know. Lemon can be very sexy on the right woman." He brushed a lock of her hair from her eyes. "You wear it well."
"I do?"
"You wear it very well." He threaded his fingers in the hair at the base of her neck. "Very, very well."
His breath warmed her skin, and she fisted his shirt in her hand. Peter captured her mouth in a kiss. The tingles shot from her lips to her heart, to her toes, and back. His tongue speared between her lips. Wendy sucked on him, simulating sex with his tongue.
Peter broke the kiss first, but didn't relent from her. "You taste like sin," he puffed.
"Sin has a taste?"
"Considering you write about sex, I'd think you'd know." Peter swatted her ass with the flat of his hand. "Take off your shirt. I want to see you."
The tingle on her ass combined with the grit in his voice and resonated to her core. She yanked the shirt up over her head and tossed the discarded garment across the room.
Peter buried his face in her chest and groaned. His day-old whiskers scraped against her lace-covered breasts. Cream slickened her panties. He reached behind her and flicked the clasp on her bra. "I want this gone." He heaved the bra in the same direction as her shirt. "That's better. If I had my way, you'd never wear one again."
The chill of the night caressed her bare breasts. She shivered. Peter rubbed his cheek on her chest again and bit down on her nipple. Streaks of pleasure-pain ripped through her body. She tensed and smoothed her palms along his arms. Absorbed in the moment, she rocked on his lap and whimpered.
"Stop."
Wendy froze. Anticipation ricocheted through her veins. This was the part she loved -- her lover exerting control and her not knowing what he'd do next.
"No coming 'til I say so."

Some Days I Don't Feel Like Doing Anything....

...like today.

Why? I've got a pretty good reason. Or three.

I'm taking the book Believe on a review tour this week and next. That's a lot of work. What doesn't help matters much is, well, actually a couple things. Reviews are a crap shoot. I know that. Not everyone will like the book. So each day is like waking up with the fear the review won't be good. That's life, though.

Also, my laptop battery has given up it's life. The laptop still works if I've got it on a cord, but come on. That's why I got a laptop--to take it with me. The rotten battery replacement is going to be anywhere from $30 to $180. Yeah, you read those last three numbers right. That's like 1/3 of a computer if I replaced it. And yeah, I looked at amazon, but sheesh, have you read those reviews? Either they've had the battery for a day and love it, or the thing doesn't work. HELP!?!

And for the icing on the cake...my allergies are acting up. YAY. Okay, not yay. It stinks. I've gone through at least one box of tissues. Benedryl is about the only thing that works to make life breathable. Problem? It knocks me out. Yeah. Thrilling.

I've got a story to finish and at least one percolating. Oh and next week, on Friday the 13th... Always releases! For that, I am excited. Peter Pan a grown up and a Dom to boot!

Never Saw it Coming...

I sat down to write this post and wasn't sure initially what to write. I mean, I start these things on Monday and add a little bit here and there until it's Thursday and I think: OH CRAP! I've gotta get this done!

This week was a little different. I never saw this coming. I should pay more attention, but I didn't. I didn't realize Under and Over It was on AllRomance Ebooks. Or rather, I saw it had popped up on ARe and hoped for the best. I promo it and Love the story, but there's only so much you can do without beating people over the head with promo. I'd like to think I'm one of those folks who promos, but not so much that people see my emails and hit the DELETE key.

Permanent released on ARe this week as well. Monday actually. So here's what I never saw coming... both Under and Over It and Permanent both became bestsellers on ARe. THANK YOU READERS!!! Really. I'm stoked. I had no idea. I love both books and enjoyed writing them, so I'm glad others are getting to read those books.

Want to head to ARe to get your copies?
Permanent
Under and Over It

It's pretty humbling to have someone email you and say, have you looked at the product pages? You should look. As I've said, don't get me wrong - I think both books are fantastic, but to end up where they have? That's pretty exciting and a little scary. What if I can't follow up the stories with just as good ones? What if it's a fluke? Yeah, just a little stress.

Okay, so I'm going to go back to the bat cave to work on follow ups. :-) Thanks for reading.

RELEASE DAY!! Down to Earth ~ Out Now!

IT's official. The third in the Glow Band books is out today! Yep. And you can get it in audio form. Woo hoo!! So what's it called? Down to Earth. Where can you get a copy? Right here or click the banner. Read on for more!

Opposites attract? Are you kidding?

For Ike Clanton, having competition means winning. Best at the guitar, biggest ride, highest hair, most tattoos. Until he meets Tallulah. She's nothing like he wants, but she's everything he needs -- he just has to figure it out.

Tallulah never wanted to join Glow. She's there as a favor, and not to Ike. An Earth elemental and a rock star shouldn't mix, should they?

Add overzealous greenery and a heaping helping of ego to this mix and shake wildly. Maybe being down to earth isn't such a bad thing after all.

Contains a little lovin, lots of male nakedness and an Earth Elemental who drives a certain guitarist berserk.

Get yours here!
Excerpt anyone? Good! Read on!

"Which moron belongs to the monster truck?"

Tallulah shoved a lock of hair from her eyes. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't catch her breath. Some damned fool had driven over -- not beside but over -- her bike. Like it wasn't even there. She fisted her hands on her hips. Her dress swirled around her legs, sending a shiver through her body. Why the hell had she worn a dress when it was so freaking cold? At least she had pants in her bag.

"Guys, who belongs to the behemoth truck?" Her voice cracked on the last word. Damn it.

Wide-eyed, Zac "Ice Man" Frost and Luc Moline stared at her. Neither spoke, but a roar of laughter erupted on the far side of the recording room.

Gritting her teeth, Tallulah turned her attention to the cackler. A shred of her anger dissipated -- but not much. The laughter belonged to none other than the object of her desire and frustration, Ike Clanton. Six feet of solid muscle, wrapped in tattoos, muscles and leather. His hair, fixed in neon green spikes, added another six inches to his height. Compared to her five foot two, he was damned massive. When he played, he wowed arenas. Women literally fell at his feet, wanting a piece of the punk rock guitar god.

Almost every woman.

Sure, she'd wondered what it might be like to tangle herself up in his arms, but the moment he opened his mouth all bets were off. Abrasive was a mild way to describe him. Always with a wisecrack or caustic comment. He might have the mouth of a jerk, but was he always destructive?

He couldn't possibly be the fool that trashed her bike. Zac and Luc had so much more sense than to associate with someone so Ike-ish. Any other words failed to describe him.

"Don't park a bike in a parking spot. Those are for the real vehicles." Ike shook his head and placed his guitar back in its stand. "There's a couple of poles I can think of that need decorating. We could put your bike there as folk art." He chuckled and stood. "Seriously, what's she doing here? I've got the solos down just fine."

Tallulah fumbled with her words. She had every right to be there. Zac had personally asked her to play the mirror line on "Crumbled." Luc wanted her to do some dulcimer work for "Every Little Piece." She glanced at the fresh flowers sitting in the vase on the piano. The blossoms opened wider, with brighter colors. Oh, Goddess. Who the hell was her element reacting to?

"We arranged for her to be here." Zac sighed. "I didn't want to double track. She's adding color to a couple of the songs. Got a problem with that?" He stood and folded his arms.

Although he drove her berserk, of the two Tallulah preferred Ike. He had an air of raw sexuality. Zac was hot, no doubt, but his attention was hyper-focused on his wife, Atria. Not that Tallulah minded. Once she got to know Attie, she loved the fire elemental like a sister. But to see Zac go toe-to-toe with Ike was indeed interesting.

"The only pussy in this band was Slash. What the fuck?" Ike glanced in her general direction, and his lips curved down into a sneer. "God damned changes."

Zac nudged Ike out of Tallulah's earshot. Whatever he said, Zac's steely expression never changed. Ike's ears burned a bright crimson, and his fingers flexed on his belt loops.

Great. Make him hate me more. Tallulah groaned and sat down on the nearest stool. I just wanted to play music, not join the damned band.

"He's under a lot of stress ever since he saw the play list last week." Luc plopped down beside her and crossed his ankles. "He won't say what's pissed him off, but we know he's not being himself."

"How can you tell? He's an asshole as usual." She snorted. "Never mind. It's none of my business."

"Actually, it's very much your concern." Luc folded his arms and dropped his voice. "We need the line on "Piece" to match exactly. No variations, no little jaunts. I love Ike like he was my blood, but I have a precise vision for this song. He's been hesitant to go along with it because I think he's afraid to be outdone. Oh, and he hates being double tracked."

Hated double tracking? Good grief. Afraid to be outdone? She shrugged. "Whatever. He made the cover of Rock Monthly three years straight as Guitar Hero of the Year. I am no competition. I'm no one."

"Whatever." Luc yawned. "It's the ones you don't see coming that knock you down the fastest." He snapped his fingers. "Dude. Zac." Scampering off the stool, Luc stood. "I've got the line."

Before she knew what was happening, Luc streaked over to the piano. Zac strode to his side and leaned on the piano lid. Whatever they were in the middle of, no one in the room mattered to them. Fine by her. Maybe she'd be able to slip out to call the bike shop to fix what was left of her mountain bike. Anything had to be better than being in a room with Ike, the truckloads of hate he had for her, and the irritating way her element reacted to him being there.

Tallulah smoothed a lock of her hair between her fingers, then clicked her guitar case closed. Forget this. She didn't need the headaches. Case in hand, she strode into the foyer and stared out over the city. Plumes of smoke wafted from the steel yards. Lights flickered on the skyscrapers as the rest of the world worked hard. The sun cast purplish light over the landscape. March snow fluttered past the window in tiny flecks. She might have grown up in Cleveland, but there were moments she longed to run away to the country, to run through open fields and not see a tall building for miles.

To have a natural landscape... impossible.

Being an earth elemental wasn't what it was cracked up to be. Environmental disasters bothered her more than physical harm. Hell, it felt like physical harm. Atria and Zac tried to understand. More than most, Zac got her pain. His element was in constant flux. But still. Understanding meant zilch if he wasn't the person intended to be her counterpart. Unlike Zac, Attie, and Tay, she hadn't found her counterpart, and the way things went for her, he wasn't likely out there anyway.

Too bad Ike was such a dick. Probably didn't even remember the concert when he'd pulled her on stage. A shiver skated up her spine. Just the thought of him left her hot and cold. She knew his reputation and the way he held himself on stage. What would it be like to get lost in his arms? To feel his breath on the back of her neck as they tried every position in the Kama Sutra? Dear Goddess, it would feel like heaven... unless his actual persona matched the stage reputation.

New Reviews!

Foxglove has love for Megan's work this week on Long and Short Erotic Reviews. I'm smilin'. 4.5 stars on both books. That's some love. Megan's books got some great quotes and well, read on.
Click here to go to LAS Erotic Reviews AFTER you read the post. :-)

Livia was cast out of heaven for the crime of falling in love with a human. So what's a fallen angel to do when she meets the man of her dreams? Falling certainly has its perks.

Ty didn't expect the angel at his party to be fallen or to have a murky past. He also didn't expect her to end up in his arms. Now he's not about to let the past stand in the way of their future.

"As I said, this is a story of second chances. True ones like Livia and Ty and false ideas of trickery and evil intent aimed at Livia. Just when things look bad for our hero and heroine, forces at work help Livia find her true calling. This is a tale for those who like a bit of fantasy with their happily-ever-after."

Raylan believed himself unworthy of love until he met Chase. Chase brought out Raylan’s natural need to control and the power to force submission. But time and distance make having a relationship hard. Can Raylan prove to Chase they have what it takes for love to last through this Christmas and every other Christmas for the rest of their lives?

Chase found the muse for his songs in Raylan. Each time they touch, kiss, make love, music fills his soul. But working odd gigs to make ends meet while Raylan photographs rock and roll royalty isn’t beneficial to Chase’s creativity. Can he convince Raylan they’re better off together than apart?

"Chase and Raylan are great together, but they are also major ‘drama queens’ where their emotions are involved. This is the story of a new relationship, and the pitfalls that can come between two people in love if they aren’t careful. I really enjoyed the little things these two did for each other, and there is one big surprise Raylan has for Chase that I don’t want to reveal here. But it is the high point of the story, that one perfect moment when you just know these two have something real and beautiful between them.

I recommend this to those who love happy ever after, but one warning: tissues and ice in equal measures are needed for this one."

Sunday Book Video ~ Fire Woman ~ Megan Slayer

She's everything he needs... if he can withstand the burn.

Atria Moline isn't your average photographer. She controls fire. Sounds fun, being able to scorch whenever you like? Think again. She's lonely and desperate for the touch of the man who can dance in her flame -- if she doesn't immolate him first.

Zac "Iceman" Frost controls the stage with his band Glow. He's not about to back down from Atria's challenge. He's got secrets of his own and his sights set on her.

Just a Little Stuck...

You're probably looking at the title of this post and thinking, gee, where is she stuck? Yeah, it's a strange way to start a post, but it's a start anyway.

So where am I stuck?

I'm at the critical part of my latest WIP. The love scene. Now don't get me wrong. I love to write hot and these two are begging to get hot. The thing is, and I'm sure the girls will agree with me, you can't just write hot on the spur of the moment. You have to be in a mood to write it. Just saying, I'm gonna write it and making yourself do it and letting the love flow the way it's naturally going to flow is like being at opposite ends of a spectrum. I want to write it, but if I force it, then it won't be sexy or fun. It won't flow. It will sound tight and not in a good way. So I'll let it run for now.

But, I've got a surprise in store for you. What is it you say? Why, the new cover for Fallen, coming in January from Changeling Press. Yep. I'm pretty sure I drove the cover artist berserk being particular, but I am completely thrilled with the outcome and am so happy to share it with you.

Here's the blurb to tide you over until January...

He's her salvation if she's willing to lose her wings all over again.

RELEASE DAY!!!

Thought I'd share with everyone, yeah, I'm a little late, but better late than never, my newest release: Under and Over It. It's my very first MM story and I'm both excited and scared to see what the reader verdict is.

Here's the blurb:
Rock hero Camryn Tate makes the girls scream, but his roommate, Regan, holds the key to his heart.

What happens when an artist finds his muse? Regan Finley's photography makes the local music scene shine. He's four months from his final exhibition and graduation with a Masters in Fine Art Photography. But instead of preparing for the party, he's fretting about his exhibition theme--bondage and passion. There's one person he wants to make his exhibition come to life, if he can convince his housemate to participate.

Camryn Tate plays the music that makes the young girls scream. He likes being a local rock hero. His time on campus is coming to a close as well. In four months time, he'll have earned his Bachelor's of Music degree in composition. The moment he finds out what Regan wants to do for the exhibition Cam has to make a decision. He can let Regan have his commanding way and get the pictures he needs for the exhibition or he could walk away from the best roommate and friend he's ever known... all because of a little ball of nylon rope.

I hope you enjoy and let me know if you do!

Release Day...A little Ditty... And the End of a Spotlight!

The Spotlight Continues at Whipped Cream. In fact, it's the last day. You'd better comment!

~ ~

So it's also a release day. Fire Woman is officially out today. Leave a comment and you're in the hat for a $5 GC to Changeling Press.

Here's the blurb for Fire Woman:

She’s everything he needs...if he can withstand the burn.

Here's a excerpt:
A thousand bodies swaying to the hypnotic rhythm, but not a one for me.

Atria pushed through the throng of people. Smoke and sweat clung in the air. She crinkled her nose. Too many writhing limbs and not enough air to breathe. One of the concertgoers, a punk kid with a piercing glittering in his nose, tossed her a sneer. The four-inch spikes of ebony hair on his head reminded her of lethal weapons. "Wannabe," the teen snapped.

Snorting, she pushed past him. "Bathe." He might be dangerous in a rebellious teenager sort of way, but he had nothing on her.

"Go home," he growled and put his palm up. "This line is for passes and hardcore Glow fans."

Atria flicked her fingers, sending an arc of flame to his hand. His eyes widened, and his skin paled beyond the white makeup. The facade of bad boy melted into scared child as he backed away from her.

"What the hell?" His voice shook. "I didn't mean for you to kill me."

She leaned in close enough for him to hear her over the roar of the music. "If I wanted to kill you, you'd be toast by now."

The punk shook his head and backed away. His body trembled. "You're a freak -- a scary freak. What the fuck?"

Good, she thought and continued to the door. Always nice to be recognized as different. Along the way, two more rowdy kids shoved at her. Both found out the hard way -- through a minor hair fire and scorched eyebrows -- Atria Moline didn't play games.

"She burnt me!" The kid with blue streaked hair stormed the guard. "That bitch burned me. I'll have to shave my damned head."

"Consider it an improvement," the bouncer snapped. "Go." One brow rose as he considered Atria. "How many?"

She sighed. "I only scorched three, Hiram." Trust her big brother to call her on the carpet. "They didn't burn. Just a little sizzle and everything will grow back. Maybe."

"Your sizzle will get your ass arrested." Hiram sniffed the air and blew out a long breath."You burned hair and it smells like ass. Don't do that again. Sister or not, I will hurt you."

"No you won't. You love me and you'll protect me because I'm your sister." She braced her hands on her hips. "Ha."

"Whatever, brat. Are you here to see Lucien?" His smile widened. "Or have you finally found the nerve to talk to Zac?"

"Shut up." The response sounded one hell of a lot better than, I want to jump his bones and ride to Arizona. Damn it. Luc wanted pictures taken after the gig. "I'm here to photograph, not hurl myself at anyone." Shit. That sounded goofy, especially since she didn't have her camera in plain sight. The thought crossed her mind -- had she remembered it at all?

"Uh-huh." He twisted the knob and allowed her into the inner sanctum -- the backstage area. "Next time, keep the camera around your neck for credibility."

Although Atria considered giving her brother the middle finger, she refrained and shivered. She'd been backstage at the Steelyards plenty of times. Luc and his band, Glow, played lots of places, plenty of them creepier than the former factory warehouse. Why the hell did the massive room scare her? One name came to mind. Zac.

Damn.

She plopped down onto a nearby folding chair and closed her eyes. Zacchaeus "Iceman" Frost. Goofy name for a hot man. Hot? Okay, so the guy was handsome in a brooding, six-foot-five manner. She licked her lips as a clear image of Zac came together in her mind.

Muscles just where a woman wanted to lick. Hardly a stitch of hair on him and a just one tattoo on his back -- a spider web or medieval design -- she wasn't sure and didn't care. And those eyes, the pristine blue of the North Atlantic. Heat zipped through her veins.

Was he packing? The bulge in the front of his leathers hinted at more than enough to please. Need tingled in her pussy, and Atria crossed her legs to stave off the sensations.

"I want you, Attie." His sensual lips curled into a smile. "Now."

Her breath came in labored puffs as she opened to him. Just to feel his callused hands on her body, tweaking her nipples, drawing out her fire and scorching them through and through.

"What are you doing?"

Fuck, fuck, fuck. Zac's voice, and not from her fantasy, came through loud and clear. The music stopped, leaving her in the thick throb of the crowd noise just on the other side of the wall...

~ ~

And lastly, I had this song on the brain....

I'm dating myself by saying I remember when it came out and I have the CASSETTE.

Friday Fun with Megan - Friday Flirt for Fire Woman!!

Thought I'd share a bit of Fire Woman with you. I'm stoked because it comes out in....TWO WEEKS!!!!

Here's a Friday Flirt:

“A thousand bodies swaying to the hypnotic rhythm, but not a one for me.”

“Wannabe,” the teen snapped.

Snorting, she pushed past him. “Bathe.” He might be dangerous in a rebellious teenager sort of way, but he had nothing on her.

“Go home,” he growled and put his palm up. “This line is for passes and hardcore Glow fans.”

“What the hell?” His voice shook. “I didn’t mean for you to kill me.”

Friday Fun with Megan!

So. It's been a week. I have to say I love working with Changeling Press. The folks there are so friendly. It's like writing for a family, a huge family, but a family. I was asked to write an Encounter story. Got that done this past week. Was really fun trying to write a story that's hot and short. I also outlined the story that goes along with Fire Woman. Luc keeps giving me the stink eye because I haven't written his story. It's on the list. First, I'm working on a Christmas themed story. It's a little late in the year for it, as most pubs have already had the calls for holiday work. I buck the system. I know, you're really shocked. So that's going. Not going to be a long story, but I want to get it done. I need to get back to Luc and Tay's story as well as Neddy and Kane. Only a hundred ideas. Too bad there's only 24 hours in the day. That's all for now. I'll get back to the WIP's in a bit. Gotta finish the posts and then I can. Yes, Luc, that means I'll be back to work on you in a moment. Ta!

So...It's Friday and I'm Chatting!!

I wasn't sure what to Blog about today, but hey, I thought, yanno, sometimes the MA peeps don't mosey over to my blog, so this is over there, too. Read on!

Fire Woman got a release date: September 23rd. I am stoked. Yes, I am. And wow, do things happen fast. But it's so good. I mean, it's exciting to know I've got something that will be published and not just on my site.

I did have a story that was kicked back, but yanno...I was, yes, I was upset about it initially. It was one of those not the right fit, thanks but no thanks rejections. Now, although I was bummed, it wasn't because I was angry. Far from it. In fact, I'm going to sub to this press in the future. Absolutely. What I struggled with was the lack of comments. What do I fix? What do I improve upon? Was there any of the story that was good? Now, before you get up in arms, cuz like I said, I was irked at first, look at it this way: presses are taking the work. They are offering the chance. If they don't want to work...then they don't have to. And it's ok. Why? Because they want what's ready, NOW. So mine wasn't ready now. Doesn't mean I should hate the press or get really pissed. Nope. It means I need to up my game and make sure the next sub is even tighter. It's a challenge and I love a challenge.

Speaking of challenges, the one I got from my friend, the 10k in 14 days. I did it. I won. Doesn't mean the book will be accepted. Heck, it could find the same fate as the above book. Happens. But, ah, you see, I have this plan. What one doesn't like/want, might be exactly what another might want/like. Happens all the time. So as much as I'm chewing my nails down in anticipation and am more than a little down about the above book, I know that it's not the total end. Faith. I've got some.

I was given another challenge. I know, right, lots of challenges...do these people ever sleep? Apparently not. But that's beside the point. So I was given the second challenge. 7k by Sept 23rd. I don't want to say easy peasy, cuz if the story doesn't flow, that 7k can be darned hard. But again, I don't back down. (yes, Tom Petty is so playing in my head). And I'm working on a shorty short for the Encounters line at Changeling.

I'm busier than heck, but I love it.

Check out my chat on Whipped Cream this weekend. Should be a blast. I'm up with Mysti at 6 pm on Sunday...unless the hurricane takes Mysti away. Let's hope it doesn't. See ya then!

Fridays with Megan ~ News!!!!

So I have news!!! I sold Fire Woman my elemental I've been yakking about for what seems like ever, to Changeling Press. I am super stoked as I love the press, love the books, and the people are a riot.

So what is Fire Woman?

It's a short blurb, and unedited, so bear with me.

She’s everything he needs...if he can withstand the burn.
Atria Moline isn’t your average photographer. She controls fire. Sounds fun, being able to scorch whenever you like? Think again. She’s lonely and desperate for the touch of the man who can dance in her flame—if she doesn’t immolate him first.

Zac “Iceman” Frost controls the stage with his band Glow. He’s not about to back down from Atria’s challenge. He’s got secrets of his own and his sights set on her.

Can they find love in each other’s arms before a threat from her past destroys their future?
